Are there any all-inclusive hotels in Moorea?
Not in the sense that people understand it in the Caribbean or Mexico. In Moorea, 17 km from Tahiti, no hotel offers an all-inclusive package with unlimited meals, drinks, and activities.
There are two things we find:
- Meal plans offered by the hotels: breakfast included, half-board (breakfast and dinner), or full board, depending on the hotel. Beverages and activities are not included and are subject to an additional charge.
- Packages sold by travel agencies: flights, ferry rides, overnight stays, breakfast, and one or two excursions, all booked at once.
Why Travelers Look for "All-Inclusive" Packages in French Polynesia
The reason is simple: eating out is expensive. According to the ISPF, dining out is, on average, 75% more expensive in French Polynesia than in mainland France. Our guide to the cost of living in Tahiti provides a breakdown of meal prices in Moorea, from food trucks to restaurants.
However, the lack of an all-inclusive package does have one advantage: it encourages you to venture out of the hotel. Having lunch in a food truck, climbing up to the Belvédère, or spending a day on a motu is all part of the island experience—and that wouldn’t be the case if you were just enjoying a buffet by the pool.
What “all-inclusive” Means in Moorea
An all-inclusive vacation in Moorea consists of four segments, all booked at the same location:
- Accommodations: at Cook’s Bay, all of our suites offer views of the bay and feature a fully equipped kitchenette.
- Meals: breakfast, half-board at the hotel restaurant, or a kitchenette where you can cook whenever you like.
- Activities: diving, lagoon tours, and excursions, booked by the hotel through its partners.
- Logistics: coordinated schedules and hotel pick-up whenever possible.
There is no set menu or fixed itinerary. You choose what you want to do, and we’ll take care of the reservations.
How it works: Send an email to reservation@mooreacooksbay.com listing the activities you’re interested in, the number of participants, and your preferred dates. The team can recommend trusted service providers. You can do this before your arrival (preferably during peak season) or at the front desk during your stay.
The Diving + Vacation Package in Moorea
Scuba diving is often the main reason for visiting the island. Moorea is one of the most accessible destinations in Polynesia: the dive sites are just a few minutes by boat from the north coast.
Here’s how things are going from Cook’s Bay:
- Transportation: The boat from our partner dive center picks up divers directly at the hotel’s dock. No car or transfer is needed.
- For beginners: an introductory session led by certified instructors; no certification required.
- For certified divers: dives at the island’s major sites, such as Tiki, famous for its sharks, or the Coral Wall, with its drop-offs and sea turtles. Details on the dive sites and required certifications can be found in our Moorea Diving Guide.
- Schedule: Trips usually leave in the morning. You return for lunch, and the afternoon is free.
Please note: Some deep dive sites are reserved for experienced divers with at least a Level 3 certification. Please specify your certification level when making your reservation.
And between dives? Masks and snorkels are available to borrow for free at the front desk. The reef drop-off in front of the hotel, accessible from the private beach, is a great spot to spot sea turtles and clownfish while snorkeling.
Are you looking for a diving package in Tahiti? Moorea is a 30- to 45-minute ferry ride from Papeete. The dive sites there are more accessible for beginners.

Half-board or kitchenette: Which meal plan should you choose?
That’s the real question when it comes to an “all-inclusive” vacation in Moorea, and that’s where Cook’s Bay stands out from the big resorts: you don’t have to make a decision once and for all.
- Half-board: breakfast and dinner at Le Cook’s restaurant, built on stilts facing the bay. This is the ideal option if you want to simplify your daily decisions. Lunch is on your own, so you can try a food truck or have a picnic on a motu.
- Breakfast only: our breakfast menu is à la carte, featuring eggs Benedict, coconut French toast, granola bowls, and fresh juice.
- The kitchenette: Each suite is equipped with one (stovetop, refrigerator, microwave, dishes). You can prepare breakfast on the terrace or cook fish you bought at the market. Many of our guests alternate between dining out some evenings and eating in their suite on others.
- During the day: The pool bar serves cold drinks, cocktails, and light lunches.
For extended stays or families, combining half-board with a kitchenette offers the best of both worlds: the convenience of an all-inclusive package and the freedom of an apartment.
Which package is right for your trip?
For couples or honeymooners. A suite with a terrace, or a suite with a solarium for its private terrace measuring over 30 m². Add half-board for dinners overlooking the bay, and a lagoon excursion booked by the hotel.
With the family. The family suites feature two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a large terrace. Snorkeling and kayaking from the hotel’s beach keep the kids busy without needing transportation. For ocean excursions, please ask about the minimum age requirements when booking.
For divers. A suite with a kitchenette so you can plan your meals around your dive schedule, and trips booked before your arrival. The boat will pick you up at the dock.
For a wellness retreat. Yoga classes yoga classes in Moorea every week in the hotel’s studio, gym, Balinese beds on the private beach, and a mirror-like pool overlooking the bay. Everything is on-site.
Should I book a package deal with the hotel, or handle everything myself?
| Criterion | Book everything yourself | Book your stay and activities through the hotel |
|---|---|---|
| Organization | Several service providers to find and contact | Just one email with your preferences and dates |
| Choosing Service Providers | Based on online reviews | Partners the team knows locally |
| Diving Availability | Please check once you've booked your hotel | Details regarding your stay |
| Logistics | Transfers to be arranged | Pickup at the dock for diving |
| Flexibility | Complete | Program can be adjusted before and during your stay |
If you like to be in control and compare options, booking on your own is still a good option. If you have 5 to 7 days on the island and would rather spend them in the lagoon than in front of your computer, let us take care of the arrangements.
Arriving in Moorea and Choosing the Best Time to Visit
Access. The Tahiti–Moorea ferry connects Papeete to Vaiare in 30 to 45 minutes; from there, the hotel is about a 15-minute drive. There are no overnight crossings: if your international flight arrives late in the day, plan to spend the night in Tahiti.
The season. The dry season (May through October) is the most popular. The wet season, from November through April, is quieter and greener. The hotel regularly offers off-season and long-stay deals during this time. Our guide When to Visit French Polynesia provides a month-by-month breakdown of the weather.
Combining Moorea with Other Islands
For a diving trip to Polynesia, Moorea is an excellent first stop—it’s easy to get to and suitable for divers of all levels. Many divers then combine it with the Tuamotu Atolls (Rangiroa, Fakarava), renowned for their passes and drift dives. Others add Bora Bora: our comparison Moorea or Bora Bora will help you decide.
The Marquesas Islands (Nuku Hiva, Hiva Oa) are another destination, several hours by plane from Papeete. They’re best planned as an extension of your trip, not as a day trip from Moorea.
